Nathon

Me, Maria, Camilla and Malin went shopping in Nathon yesterday. It's about a thirty minute motorbike drive from Chaweng so after training we hopped on our bikes and drove off. I recognized Nathon from when I was in Thailand with my parents and sister in 2009. It hasn't changed at all. I remembered everything. And everything was exactly the same. Even the shop where we had something to drink in 2009 was exactly the same. It was a really good day and we found some nice stuff for no money. It's low season right now and Nathon is really no place for tourists so it was also pretty relaxing to not be surrounded by too many falang for once. We have white skin and we are still falang but if you know a place as well as we do with Koh Samui you get tired of tourists that just come to the island for a short amount of time and just to party. It was good to go to a place without that many falang for once. Good day!

Vroeeeem here we go! Nathon bound.

It's nice to be on the back of a motorbike. You just get to sit and watch. The views on the way to Nathon are amazing. It's hard taking pictures while sitting on a motorbike going 60 km/h but take my word for it; the view was stunning. Made me appreciate my time in Asia even more than I already did.

Nathon

Dozens of small shops, all selling the same stuff. You see it everywhere. That's Thailand.

Taking a break from shopping and enjoying a nice watermelon shake. God I love watermelon so much.

To my sister: this is the shop where you bought your muay thai shorts four years ago..

To my mom/dad; recognize this place?! :D

Getting some new accesories for my Buddha chain

Green Mango

Last night was saturday night and that means party time. There's no training on sunday so there's no reason to not get drunk and dance. We had a great night. It's still not as great as last year though, I miss the people that were here a year ago. Everything changed, nothing is the same but other than that I still had a great night last night with these amazing people. The only thing that didn't change since last year is the playlist at Green Mango. I'm happy I can still sing along to almost every song they play. Today it has been rainy and cloudy again all day so hopefully tomorrow the sun will come out again. I need to work on my tan before I go back to Sitmonchai. Yesterday we went shopping in Nathon, I'll post some pictures of that later. Now I got to go eat my chicken. Take care!

Happy times with Fleur

More happy times with Mimi

And I decided to weigh-in on the way home..

Training at Superpro

And unlike what the pictures and the rest of the stories might seem to tell, we still train twice a day. Two hours every morning, two hours every evening. Running, kicking pads, bag work, clinching, teeps, elbows and more. Training is still going well but I am taking it a little easy. Here it's more about having fun than training my ass of. I will get to do that when I go back to Sitmonchai next wednesday. It's good to be back with my trainers here. We're having a blast. Training is so much fun, every day, over and over again. So for now, let the good times roll. These were taken at training yesterday morning.

I got the sun in my pocket

Yeah, sun is back! That only means one thing; BEACH.

Of course couldn't go without a nice massage after a hard training session..

I have to admit; life's hard.

Nah, just kidding. Life's easy. I love my life.

Torrential Downpour

We went to Big Buddha the other day. As a tradition we always go there, refresh our blessing, walk around for a bit, touch the green dragon for good luck on your next fight and just too enjoy the nice scenery and calmness that this place has to offer. The day started of really nice but halfway through all hell broke loose and it started raining like crazy. And it didn't stop! It just kept going, all day long. We had to drive back on our motorbike but halfway back it was not fun anymore so we abandoned the motorbike and got a cab back. We felt like we had almost drowned. Like the next day the weather cleared up again. I've seen enough rain in Holland, here I just want sun. Luckily we got the sun back now!

This is what happends to Samui when it rains. You get to swim. The roads literally disappear. But we did have a good laugh about it.

Torrential downpour, I've always wanted to use those words. And now I can! Torrential downpour, that's what went down that day.

After training it finally stopped raining so we went to get dinner at the local food market in town. Gotta love noodle soup and chicken!
